Welcome to Tri-State Marine Yacht Brokers — Trusted Since 1965

TSM Yacht Brokers

Tri-State Marine has been the Chesapeake Bay's leading brokerage of outboard boats since our very beginning, 65 years ago. While we still offer sterndrive yacht brokerage services, we specialize in boats of all sizes with outboard motors – providing you with the very best representation across the region and throughout the United States. And, we don't just broker Grady-White and Parker boats, we regularly broker all of the other top outboard boat brands, such as: Boston Whaler, Pursuit, Regulator, Scout, Sea Hunt, Sportsman, Everglades, etc.

Quite simply, no other yacht broker or group in the Chesapeake Bay area can offer the level of service and support that we offer with outboards! That's a bold statement, one that we live up to each day.

On-Site, at your Home or Marina — Access and Convenience is Key

We understand that you may wish to continue to use your boat will we have it listed for sale - especially during the spring and summer months. This is why we offer you the flexibility to keep your boat at your home port or marina for regular use, or you can choose for us to maintain your boat on location at Tri-State Marine – with no additional storage fees, which you would pay with brokers at all other local yacht yards.

Simply put, we’ll meet you and your buyers where your boat is — providing you with the elite level of support that you've come to expect from Tri-State Marine.

A Simple Yet Proven Brokerage Process — Designed for Efficiency & Effectiveness

If you’re new to brokering your boat, this is what you can expect from Tri-State Marine as your exclusive boat brokers:
  1. A Listing Agreement Built Around Your Boat

We'll start with a Listing Agreement that spells everything out clearly:
    • Selling Price — We price your boat based on our proven AI-Driven Pricing Model, which takes into account all active comps, recent sold data, and an honest look at your boat’s condition and location.
    • Timeframe — Our agreements run a minimum of 180 days (6 months), during which we exclusively represent your boat. After that period, either party can terminate with written notice.
    • Commission — We handle the marketing, representation, and every document required to close the sale. In return, we collect a broker fee of 10% of the selling price or $5,000, whichever is greater — you owe nothing until your boat sells. If the buyer brings their own broker, this commission is split with them.
  2. Paperwork Made Simple
To keep things moving quickly once your boat sells, we'll ask for a few documents up front: a copy of your driver's license (and any co-owners'), the boat title or Certificate of Documentation, and your state registration. If your boat is owned by an LLC or corporation, we'll also need the Articles of Incorporation and Operating Agreement so we know who's authorized to sell and how ownership is structured. Having these ready makes the closing process fast and painless.
  3. Getting to Know Your Boat
We don't just list your boat — we get to know it. Every boat that we represent goes through our rigorous 360 degree bow to stern review - to ensure that your boat is ready for sale - which will save you time if a buyer choses to survey your boat. That means building a full inventory, collecting maintenance records, and capturing quality photos and video that actually show your boat at its best.
  4. Working On Your Behalf
From there, we build a listing that gets results — promoting your boat aggressively and protecting your interests every step of the way. We also monitor market conditions and demand and regularly communicate with you on progress.
